Freshinis’ all natural filters will extend and protect the freshness of flowers during refrigerated transportation and storage. Our filters wick away excess condensation/water vapor from the guard petals, packaging materials and shipping box, reducing or eliminate botrytis spores from forming on the product.  Our patented, innovative material inside the filters has cone shaped particles so they loosely hold onto water vapor and will release if the conditions are too dry therefore maintaining the proper relative humidity.  Because the minerals reduce mold and mildew by capturing spores the flowers arrive at their destination as fresh as the day they were packed in the boxes.

In addition to protecting the flowers during transportation, boxed flowers will not be negatively affected by long-term storage in refrigerators. Tests conducted on boxes, each containing 250 roses, showed that only 1% of of the roses had slight discoloration on the guard petals.  Once the guard petals were removed the roses was perfectly normal.  The rose stems were clipped and the roses were hydrated.  The roses were compared to roses with just 4 days in cold storage.  Both were displayed for 7 days and there was no distinction between the two groups according.  

 

Summary: Roses with a 0.5 oz Freshinis filter placed inside their shipping box were able to remain in cold storage for 11 days and then put on display for a further 7 days.  Total 18 days.

The Freshinis' filter technology has been used for over 10 years in the refrigerators and freezers of professional chefs, commercial cold storage operations and military applications to keep foods fresher for longer.

The Freshinis filter for the florist refrigerator can either be hung or placed on a surface inside the cold storage equipment housing cut flowers.  Each 4 oz filter will accommodate 200 cubic feet of space inside a refrigerator and will function for 3 months.
